Paul Cameron ( 1808-1891)

Born September 25, 1808, Paul Cameron was one of eight children born to Duncan and Rebecca Bennehan Cameron. Paul was the only child actively involved in the operation of Stagville Plantation, which consisted of the holdings of both the Bennehan and Cameron families. At the time of the Civil War, Paul Cameron was considered the wealthiest man in North Carolina, with plantation holdings of 30,000 acres and 900 enslaved people.
